To me, the original picture was cheery, but didn't distinguish itself in any way. The Poster Edges filter punches up the contrast a bit and adds definition to the edges.
Poster edges is one I have used before on flowers too! I like this composition and the colour contrast. Nice dark background adds POW to the daffodils.
This time of year, cheery's good! I do like the edited photo better: everything seems much sharper. As usual, you did a great job!
