This is the view from our campground on Chincoteague Island over to Assateague. They're hard to see in this photo, but on the distant shore, five wild ponies are grazing. 365/2011
Nice view. I like the choice of using the tree to frame the picture. The warm colors and leading lines would make it interesting in and of itself, but choosing to include the tree as a frame really makes it.
Great colors and no rain! I love the frame of the tree and the old piles leading off to the what I think of as the magic pony island. Must have read the same book as Val did.
Lovely serene image. This has so much going for it, the framing is first class, the leading lines add extra interest, and the processing is spot on. Great image.
...is to fill 52 themes, one a week for the year. Some weeks, maybe I'll try to find several photos to fit the themes. Others, I may spend more time trying to perfect one that seems best to represent the theme. Three years of a photo-a-day opened my eyes, now I want to hone my skills.
Somehow, a camera allows me to see more deeply and awakens the eye. For me, undertaking these year-long challenges is a way to become more aware of the world that swirls around me.
this is such a nice shot - the leading lines/poles and the colors are fabulous.

ReplyDeleteAs a horse-crazy kid (and teen) I always wanted to visit there. It looks wonderful! Glad not to see any raindrops!
ReplyDeleteI love how the poles march us up the stream, while the tree beckon us stay beneathe the security of it's bough!

ReplyDeleteYour processing and composition of this scene is just right, have to take your word about the wild ponies though!
ReplyDeleteWonderful composition. What a beautiful place to vacation.
ReplyDeleteOMGosh....drop dead gorgeous...that color is incredible!
ReplyDeleteI always wanted to go to Chincoteague Islant too. Probably read the same book as Val and Ellen did.
ReplyDeleteThis image has it all.......it it really quite perfect.
Nice arm colors, and no rain!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful! When my daughter was young she loved the book, Misty of Chincoteague.
ReplyDeleteHaving read all the Misty books several times as a horse crazy girl, I would love to visit this area. Your photo makes me wish to do so even more.
ReplyDeleteGreat colors and framing. We visited the area a few years ago and I'm hoping to return sometime. It's amazing to see the horses out in the dunes.
