Nautical

I've often featured views OF Paper Goods Pond...this is a view FROM Paper Goods Pond. We took our kayaks out on the pond this evening. Mama swan wad vigilant and steered her three cygnets into a shallow stream where we could not follow; but we saw lots of turtles as well as a heron that soared majestically overhead. Processing was done in FX Photo Studio.

  1. What a fantastic way to end the day...with a quiet paddle in scenery like this. Beautiful

  2. How serene feeling, this looks like a hand tinted image from the '30's

  6. I like the tones in this. As Ellen said, it does look like a vintage hand-tinted photograph.

I was out paddling at the cottage (Quebec) over the weekend and also got a good view of a heron as he took off close by. Funnily, I was thinking of your shots of Paper Goods Pond when I was out there!

  7. Very beautiful! It must be continually inspiring to have such a great view so close by. The process is darn cool, but I would say that it really pixelized the clouds, especially in the larger views, not sure if that was something you wanted or not, but it does tend to make the sky seem almost from a different picture since everything else is so clear. This incongruity gives a sense of uneasiness to the viewer - which, if you are going for a surreal scene, is great.
