This is the University of Connecticut Health Center in Farmington. They call it a "health" center, but since it's a tertiary care center, one is usually there to see a specialist and therefore probably not actually healthy. Hence it tends to be a somber place.

the tree almost looks like a shadow against the building....again...very, very cool processing!
ReplyDeleteWe spell it Sombre, so I thought it was the name of the Centre (Another One) But Cheer up If you feel visiting that place is depressing, I can always come around and wave feathers and twigs and sing silly songs to make you feel better!
ReplyDeleteI guess the CENTER doesn't look so SOMBER now eh?
Like the way you chose to shoot this with the tree in the foreground...your processing seems to match the mood you set for your image.
ReplyDeletebeautiful photo even if it is sombre, first impression was that of an empty after war buildings I've not seen personally but on documentaries~knowing that it is a health centre changes my regard and I love the tones and the darkness of the tree...
ReplyDeleteHi Bobbi,
ReplyDeleteIt does look kind of sombre. Like the positioning of the tree. Have a great day!

Love the composition with the tree in the foreground. Very nice processing.
ReplyDeleteNice shot of the architecture...like the repetition of the windows contrasting with the organic nature of the tree
ReplyDeleteLove the tree - adds to the moodiness of the shot
ReplyDeleteI love how strong the tree's limbs look, maybe one could draw on its strength
