@Ellen: I've always had an interest in macro photography. I now have the opportunity to indulge in it. I am truly enjoying the macro kit. I'm not sure which "optic" you have, but I use the Muse. Macro is tricky with the Muse, because there's no way to lock in the focus. But if I set the ISO high (1600 indoors with good light--I don't have a flash at this point), the shutter speed is fast, so there' not much motion blur. I use a tripod if possible, but if not, I just try to brace my arms and hold my breath when I take the shot. And I squeeze off a lot of them so as to be sure to get a few keepers. I think it's worth the investment.
...is to fill 52 themes, one a week for the year. Some weeks, maybe I'll try to find several photos to fit the themes. Others, I may spend more time trying to perfect one that seems best to represent the theme. Three years of a photo-a-day opened my eyes, now I want to hone my skills.
Somehow, a camera allows me to see more deeply and awakens the eye. For me, undertaking these year-long challenges is a way to become more aware of the world that swirls around me.
Great shot...DoF is sure there...love the bokeh too
ReplyDeleteLove this...the sweet spots are oh so sweet and that soft blur is just fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI was just trying some flower macros....without the macro...this morning. We are in Key West for awhile and it's so nice seeing the flowers!
ReplyDeleteShould've added that I didn't get anything this nice, Bobbie!!!
DeleteLove your delicate touch of this tiny gem.
ReplyDeleteLove the DOF. Really softens the photo.
ReplyDeleteA sweet sweet spot, is that a pepper flower? How do you like the macro kit? I've wondered about it.
ReplyDeleteNice effect by stacking your lenses.
