Colors/Unexpected

When I was a little girl, I lived in Manhattan and then Brooklyn, places where the sky is too small to hold a rainbow. I thought that oil slick rainbows on the street were among the most lovely sights. I have to confess that even now that I know they are pollution, they have their own compensatory beauty.

  1. I grew up with the odd rainbow and have never seen an oil slick rainbow, it is quite beautiful, this one looks like a cartoon character....

  5. I'm wondering if that would look cool as one of those metal prints that people were talking about...think it might have been Mike A., Tami, Ellen or Val???

  6. Great job capturing the colors and design. It's really not as easy to do as it seems it should be.

  11. This is a most artful sight of pollution. As a child I also enjoyed the rainbows on the water created by motor boats.

  12. Fun shot. I have loved some oil slicks in my time, this does look like it could have been tie-dyed.
