I was at the high school for my last parent-teacher ever (how could that have happened so fast?) On my way out, I spied part of the school's marching band practicing on the parking lot. Pencil Sketch and Accented Edges gave it almost a cartoon effect.

Ever since the Challenge began, I've been posting pictures taken at Rogers Orchards in Southington CT. Today, they celebrated their 200th anniversary. Ever since 1809, the orchards have been in the ownership of this one family. They grow apples, peaches and plums. We stop on Sundays on our way home from church to snag some fresh fruit. The year's cycle MUST include making peach jam as well and peach and apple pies. Every September, we go there to pick our own apples. We took our kids as they were growing up, and now we're taking grandsons.

For the celebration, they had this little bluegrass band. I've been looking for a photo that would work with the Fresco filter, and I've finally found one.

It's St. Patrick's Day, and we made our annual journey home to NYC for the Parade. This year, I was IN the Parade. It was dedicated to the Sisters of Charity on their 200th Anniversary. I went to a Sisters of Charity collge, so I was invited to take part. We marched near the beginning, so I was able to double back and watch the rest of the Parade. The gold kilts of this pipe band caught my eye. (I LOVE men in kilts!)

The Poster Edges filter brought out the crisp contrast between the black and gold in thir uniforms.
