We're back to the reality of urban congestion and blight. I snapped this through the windshield as we navigated through the tangle of highways in St. Louis.
I am certainly going to miss your "wild west" pics! I like the way you've captured the feeling of driving through St. Louis (certainly how I remember it!) ... there's the arch and all the "tangle of highways" (perfect description) as you get through the city.
When we passed through St. Louis in 2008, Hurricane Ike was also visiting the city. So my car photos have lots of raindrops.
Think I've been on the road...somehow it looks better in your photo than real life. I think I prefer this processing to tomorrow's (reading backwards...)
...is to fill 52 themes, one a week for the year. Some weeks, maybe I'll try to find several photos to fit the themes. Others, I may spend more time trying to perfect one that seems best to represent the theme. Three years of a photo-a-day opened my eyes, now I want to hone my skills.
Somehow, a camera allows me to see more deeply and awakens the eye. For me, undertaking these year-long challenges is a way to become more aware of the world that swirls around me.
Great contrast to have the arch in the background of this neighborhood. Good eye!!

ReplyDeleteSad that the only part of this fine image that doesn't feel decayed is the hood of your car.
ReplyDeleteLike the reflection of the scene in the hood. Wonderful juxtaposition of the Arch(the symbol of St Louis) in the background against the urban blight
