It's been a tough day. Tonight, we were at the wake of the 14 year old nephew of our best friends. He swerved his skateboard in front of a car. His favorite color was purple. The sunset tonight was a deep purple. Please pray for his family, and also for the person whose car he hit. And always remember that life is fragile.
So sorry to hear of your friends' loss. Tragic to lose such a young man. Beautiful photo to honor his memory.

ReplyDeleteA few years back the boy's friend was killed in a skateboarding accident...he fell and hit his head (and was not wearing a helmet). He ended up on life support with his parents making the impossible decision! Every year his mom holds what she calls DJ's day...it's a big skateboard party and she hands out free skateboard helmets!
Oh my, how impossibly sad. I hope some measure of comfort was found in that amazing sky.

ReplyDeleteSuch a sad story. We get up and go out into the world and just assume that everyone is coming back that night. The picture is beautiful and a great tribute.
