Aidan is a very sensitive child. We were sitting in the open front car of the Essex steam train on Friday, and he found the whistle--blown enthusiastically at every road crossing--to be rather painful. He liked it better on the return trip which put us in the rear car, away from the noisy engine.

The way you processed this with the streaks radiating from (or to) his head, really gives a sense of the noise traveling to/from his ears. Super photo!
ReplyDeleteI love it as when he gets older he will have his "Geckko Blaster" or whatever so loud you will have to leave the house! Kids.
ReplyDeleteYour clever processing adds to the look of Aidan's discomfit.
ReplyDeleteYour image gives a very good interpretation of disturbing noise. I can understand the attitude of Aidan very well.
ReplyDeletePerfect processing choice for this theme.
ReplyDeleteHi Bobbi,
ReplyDeleteGreat shot for the theme. I agree with Ron, once he's a teen there will be loud music rolling out for him to listen to. Have a great day!

the processing adds to the feeling of Noise surrounding Aidan.
ReplyDeleteYes, the radiating processing really adds to this. Even without a narrative I would see this as discomfort over hearing something he doesn't want to accept!
ReplyDeleteGreat processing. If I didn't know the story I'd hope he isn't willful- this could be titled "I can't hear you"
