Slowly

The Rocky Hill ferry slowly pulls into the slip, as it has done since 1655. It is the oldest continually operated ferry in the US--but this may be one of its last runs, as the idiot governor has decided to shut it down as part of budget cuts. Funny how the Governor's Mansion doesn't seem to be an unnecessary frill like this historic ferry.

  1. This is a beautifully composed Painting and should be framed and Hung in the Governor's Mansion, so they can remember.
I particularly love the two kids, ignoring the three ducks.

  3. This is a beautiful and timeless image worthy of becoming a print. Maybe you send it to the governor's office to remind them that they are sacrificing a bit of history with the decision to shut down the ferry operations.

  7. Isn't it interesting that it's so easy to cut other people's spending but leave MINE alone! Too bad we can't get on the same page as to what is important and what isn't. I vote for the ferry.

  8. What a wonderful image! It does look like an illustration/painting, a well composed illustration!

Does Connecticut have one of those new breed idiot governors who came into office pretending to be someone they aren't, like Scott Walker and the rest?

  9. Just beautiful...again, the processing is just picture perfect! I would vote on lowering the Gov's salary to save the boat!
