This is where the seeds of lifelong interest get sown: grown-ups encouraging kids. The engineer of the Essex Steam Train waves back to my granddude, Aidan. Now, Steven might want to call the Theme Police on me...except that we might have a future foamer here. (Though, truth be told, it was Aidan's younger brother, Craig, who was lathering over the "choo train.")

Hey, I'm not the theme police! I'm the biggest stretcher there is, but that's beside the point.
ReplyDeleteI fully agree with sewing the seeds of foamerdom, and this hits the proverbial nail on the head. I love the angle from which you shot this, and how Aidan's hand is aglow.
There looks to be a bit of subliminal signalling going on there.
ReplyDeleteFrom little acorns, Mighty Oaks doth grow!
ReplyDeleteA memory I bet Aidan will remember for a lifetime! Funny how we remember those little things adults do for us when we are younger as adults!
ReplyDeleteIt's absolutely endearing to me, love the scene very much!
ReplyDeleteLove this image of Aidan and the engineer.
ReplyDeleteHi Bobbi,
ReplyDeleteWonderful memory picture. Aidan will cherish this picture when he's older. Have a great day!

Just last week I had the youngest grandboy at a local airfield where the pilots were encouraging him to sit in their planes. "That's how I got started," was one pilot's comment. Seeds, indeed.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot, Bobbie! I also like your take on the theme - very creative and an encouragement to me to do some stretching!
ReplyDeleteSo true. While on a quick trip to the northern shores of Lake Superior last week, we encountered lots of families hiking together, enjoying scenery, looking at flowers, pointing out birds. One mom was hiking just ahead of us on a trail that climbed up past seven waterfalls. She had two teenage sons with her. One was really into the adventure; the other looked sullen and pouty. Mom pressed on, ignoring the behavior, and by about falls #4, pouty son was getting into the spirit of the scenery. It was great to see. Sometimes all it takes is some exposure to spark that interest.
ReplyDeleteAh...the goodwill and memories that a simple wave will generate. Lovely photo.
