Sherwood Industries

This old factory building is being renovated into classy condos. Fortunately, the developers are taking great care to retain the best features of the older building. The windows are being replaces, but the brick, arches, the sills and the lettering wil remain. The photo was taken with the Hipstamatic app. No further processing was done.

Neglected

This old factory building has long been neglected. I took the picture with the iPhone's Hipstamatic app, then did some adjusting in PhotoForge.

A few blocks away from our home is an old factory building that is being transformed into condos. There's a whole lot of promise here. The building is sound and borders on a small river that had been dammed to supply power to the factory--creating Paper Goods Pond, which now belongs to the town. Today, they were pouring cement. Using Pencil Sketch with Accented Edges cleans up the photo to draw the eye to the cement truck and the lines of the building.

An old factory building in our neighborhood is being renovated and turned into classy condos. Several of the auxilliary buildings are being demolished. This one, which was the Sherri-Cup factory (and the one that gave Paper Goods Pond its name) is one of the ones which is going to be torn down. My eye was drawn to this row of windows. Posterize gives it a silk screen look.

This factory, which once housed Sherwood Industries, is being made over into classy condos. I love the golden glow of the late afternoon sunlight on the brick. Film Grain really shows off the light as well as the weathered mossy character of the bricks.

The application of the Carving effect and the Halftone filter creates the look of an old postcard.
This is the trash-to-energy plant near my office buidling. It's an ugly thing, but there's still something striking about it when it's hit by the light of the setting sun.
