This is the tugboat that pulls the Rocky Hill Ferry across the Connecticut River. This ferry I'd the oldest continually operated ferry in the US--plying the waters since 1655. I used ProHDR to take the picture with the iPhone.

I feel like I'm right there waiting for the ferry. The fact that the tug isn't entirely in the frame gives the image some added life and motion, I think. It is just a terrific shot....

It feels like I could just walk into the scene (which would be so cool since I never have been on a Ferry before)! Wonderful composition!
ReplyDeleteCrystal clear! Looks like the ferry that takes you to Gillette Castle...
ReplyDeleteLovely image...could be down the street on our Fraser River here in Vancouver!
ReplyDeleteImpressive composition on this photo. Love the post and the water's edge in the foreground.
ReplyDeleteLove your iPhone HDR ap on this shot. It's very effective and really takes the shot over te top.
ReplyDeleteHaving the pilings frame the edge is so compelling. Nice vivid color.
