Bliss

Our granddude, Aidan, was over for a visit. We toasted marshmallow at the fire pit in our garden. Joyously he told us, "This is the best day ever! With marshmallows!" OMG--bliss for me, too. Nothing beats grandchildren!

  1. I don't want children, but I like the idea of grandchildren. I haven't figured out yet how to do that. Last year some of my BBQs include marshmallow roasting. I'll have to start that up again this year.

  3. Reminds me of many happy times making s'mores over the campfire. These are the childhood memories we hold so dear.

  7. You can't beat the exuberance of a child at a marshmallow roast! I still carry the burn scars on my fingers from when I was 7-8 and the burning sugar bomb flew off my friend's stick, and I wear them with pride!

  8. I second your sentiment. Grandchildren are the best! A reward for raising children, I think. To Gisele: I think there must be some child around who would love to have a "foster grandma" like you. Scorched marshmallows are a real treat!

  9. Love the glow of the fire in his face...nothing like a sticky marshmellow to bring a smile to a kid's face!
