Severe storms blew through our small state yesterday. A branch blew down on the power line on the corner outside of our house; it burst into flame. CL&P them shut off power to our entire grid. The grid includes the local Catholic church & school. By 4AM, we had power, but our neighbors--who had localized damage--were told it might take days to get them back. Then the pole caught on fire again. CL&P deemed it better to fix it rather than letting a big church complex & school go with out power.

Great processing . . . how could they even consider not fixing this right away?
ReplyDeleteThere were 126,000 homes without power in the state--they had to prioritize.
ReplyDeleteNice real life action captured. Seems like the weather is hammering you all year long. :-(
ReplyDeleteOMGOsh, that could have been a real mess! Glad it is fixed and technology is back in tons of homes!
ReplyDeleteWicked storms! We, in the southern part of the state, were a little luckier this time. Glad you pulled through it okay.
ReplyDeleteGreat photo of everyday heroes who are on the job everyday but often not thought of until the emergency call. I like the processing you used here as it adds to the photo.
