Endearing

As we strolled by Paper Goods Pond this evening, we saw a couple sitting on one of the benches, her arm over his shoulder. Even from a distance, the love between them was obvious. By an odd coincidental quirk, it turns out that their names are John & Barbara, the same as ours. They came from Poland 20 years ago. It was, as they put it, "too late for us," so they gave all their energy to their children. Their son is now a surgeon in Florida. Their daughter (and they remembered that we had taught her in Confirmation classes over 10 years ago!) is a nurse practioner here in CT. They seemed to be so happy and content: they know they have done well with their lives, and they are still clearly in love with each other. What an uplifting experience to have met them!

  10. Wow, what a great story! You can tell by their smiles they are happy. It would be interesting to hear of their early years in Poland.
