We left Tennessee in a driving rain. Our destination was Vicksburg, Mississippi; our route to follow the Natchez Trace as far as possible. Rain dogged us; but the Trace is as easy to drive as it is lovely. Between the distance we had to cover & the weather, we didn't make many stops. This is a typical view of the fields we passed along the way.

Love this country scene. I hope the weather improves so you can enjoy the beautiful scenery and historic sites.
ReplyDeleteBobbie, I hope the rains lets up soon for you. Lovely country even in soggy weather but better in the sun!
ReplyDeleteJon and I have been reading the Nevada Barr books (she writes a series with a heroine who is a National Park Service ranger). The ranger is stationed on the Trace in one of her books. How cool you got to visit!
ReplyDeleteWe love the Anna Pigeon books--she was our inspiration to go to Isle Royale and the Natchez Trace. We learned that Nevada Barr was a ranger on the Trace.
ReplyDeleteGreat photo...wish we had some of this rain...having problems with fires now set off by combines in the field close to our area.
