Today, John and I went geocaching on Avon Mountain. There's nothing like being in the woods on an apple-crisp autumn day in New England. The colors of the leaves are so gorgeous that people flock here to "leaf peep." But the light--slanted and tinged with gold--is really what makes the fall a gift that can linger on the retina well into our long, grey, dreary winters. A subtle application of Sepia shifts the emphasis in the photo to the light.
...is to fill 52 themes, one a week for the year. Some weeks, maybe I'll try to find several photos to fit the themes. Others, I may spend more time trying to perfect one that seems best to represent the theme. Three years of a photo-a-day opened my eyes, now I want to hone my skills.
Somehow, a camera allows me to see more deeply and awakens the eye. For me, undertaking these year-long challenges is a way to become more aware of the world that swirls around me.
I hope that is Geo Cach and release Programme as they don't do well in captivity. Love the warmth of the shot (s)
