Actor William Gillette's fancy was wanting to live in a partially ruined castle. There being none of these in Connecticut, he built one of his own. When he died, he didn't want it to go to a "blithering saphead," so he left it to the State to be a park. It still looms over the Connecticut River. Beautiful colors and an interesting story. Good job getting the shot from a moving boat! No easy task. :)
ReplyDeleteI love the fantasy element of this image...the saturated colors really enhance the castle! What a cool picture!
ReplyDeleteI love this place - visited many times as a kid and have returned several times as an adult. The story and the grandeur of the place never fail to give me a great time!
ReplyDeleteI'm following your images on Facebook and really enjoying them. Still amazed at your skill with the iPhone.
