This is the rigging of the LA Dunton, a fishing schooner from the 1929s. It's moored at Mystic Seaport. We've been to the Seaport many times...but today we saw it from a completely different vantage point--we kayaked down the Mystic River into the Seaport and paddled right past the boats. This view of the Dunton from the waterline was minimally tuned up in PhotoForge.

Terrific Lines.
ReplyDeleteWow - kayaking in Mystic. Pretty awesome! I have many visit there back in my childhood. Cool to see that great ship from such a low angle!
ReplyDeleteIf only you'd paid admission....
ReplyDeleteI love the very low perspective and the lines are amazing against the light sky. Very cool shot...
ReplyDeleteWe've paid admission many a time and have taken advantage of all that opens to one in terms of experience and education. No need to pay to just paddle past the boats. We didn't sneak into the Seaport from the water.
ReplyDeleteWe visited Mystic last fall in the very traditional tourist way and I think I like your perspective better!
ReplyDeleteWonderful lines and angles...I love the tight perspective, it really makes this exciting!
