Given that the berries were blurry, I thought it might be time to use one of the more "extreme" filters to take advantage of the contrast of the brilliant red berries and their stems against the snow. I used the Cutout filter.

I like it with the filter applied. I have never played with the filters too much I am definitely going to try cutout (if I have it - I have elements 7). Thanks for showing the before and after. It helps to see the differences and WOW is it an improvement
...is to fill 52 themes, one a week for the year. Some weeks, maybe I'll try to find several photos to fit the themes. Others, I may spend more time trying to perfect one that seems best to represent the theme. Three years of a photo-a-day opened my eyes, now I want to hone my skills.
Somehow, a camera allows me to see more deeply and awakens the eye. For me, undertaking these year-long challenges is a way to become more aware of the world that swirls around me.
Bobbie, the Cutout filter gave it a really nice poster effect. Filters have saved more than one of my out-of-focus shots!
