I didn't use a filter on this one. Instead, I converted it to black and white, then lowered the opacity so a hint of the color of the evergreen showed through. Then I played around with contast and levels and such to try to bring out the delicate, lacy nature of the snow.

Very cool effect it really shows the contrast nicely great job
ReplyDeleteI think you achieved what you were trying too, the snow doesn't look so "blown out"! Great edit!
ReplyDeleteNicely done. The snow is beautiful...but I still don't like it!!
ReplyDeleteFinally got the 365ers blogroll updated and now I'm visiting. Great photos. I love the filters.
ReplyDeleteNice lacy look, though I agree with you. I've had enough snow to last a lifetime, and there's much more to come in the next couple of months.
Very nice effects on a lovely photograph.
ReplyDeleteVery nice! I also like the original version. I love snow but get very few chances to photograph it.
ReplyDeletesnow is a challenge to photograph, but you mastered it,great photo!
ReplyDeleteLove this shot. I don't know what I would do if I saw that much snow.
ReplyDeleteI like the color showing through the B&W. I can't decide which I like better, this or the original! A tie!!
