I agree with Jo, I like the original better maybe drop the opacity on the filter by a bit more and enhance the saturation of the trees in the back so you don't loose their detail to the filter
Count me as a 3rd. I like the original one better. I think this was an excellent shot - love the mood the bare trees give this image and also the specs of color which sticks out in the original image. This needs no editing at all! You are good! :)
I'm the odd one out. I love the Graphic Pen filter. It gives the photo a creepy intensity that grabs you. When viewing the enlarged photo, the little touches of red flowers and flag stripes add to the ambiance.
I am a huge fan of Edward Gorey and an even bigger fan of any effect that improves the dark and macabre tones of an image. A cemetery deserves this type of treatment. Well done!
...is to fill 52 themes, one a week for the year. Some weeks, maybe I'll try to find several photos to fit the themes. Others, I may spend more time trying to perfect one that seems best to represent the theme. Three years of a photo-a-day opened my eyes, now I want to hone my skills.
Somehow, a camera allows me to see more deeply and awakens the eye. For me, undertaking these year-long challenges is a way to become more aware of the world that swirls around me.
I think I like the orignal better -- you can read the gravestones.

ReplyDeleteYou are right about the creepy Edward Gorey effect on this one. I think it is fun to play with photos, whether it improves them or not.
ReplyDeleteThe snow sure brightens the whole picture! As for which one, well, I like them both! No help at all...sorry! : )
