Addiction

John and I don't gamble, but from time to time, we like to browse at the shops at the casinos here in Connecticut. I did get told that taking pictures of the slots was not allowed; but I'd gotten off this shot with the iPhone before I was stopped. It was processed in PhotoBag to pump up the garish glare.

  1. What an exciting image...all those bright colors and the lighting really make one feel the sense of excitement..I can almost hear all of those machines dinging!

  2. They don't ding anymore! Everything is computerized, so there's no coins and the jackpots don't gush out--they only appear on screen!

  3. That photo could land you in gaol in Australia. It is a fun shot though. Don't know if you are aware of it, but Gambling, Alcoholism, Drug Addiction, Over Eating are all facets of the same addiction, and anyone who has a family member, with any of these addictions is suseptible, to any or all of them.

  4. This is a great "garish" shot. Casinos are definitely their own world and this picture really captures the experience.

  5. Nice catch on all that neon. I wonder why they didn't want photos of the slots?

  6. Hi Bobbi,
Great shot for the theme. I've been to a casino before. I can say for sure it's very colorful there. Have a great day!

  7. Great image to show the glow of the machines. Odd that they don't make noise, I thought the coins clinking and the dinging made people pump in more.

  8. Your processing really brings out the brightness and fluorescence of the colors.
