Spring-like weather has arrived, so I took my bike out for the first time this year. I rode down to Paper Goods Pond, where I spent a few minutes taking pictures of the geese floating on the water. As I was turning to leave, I caught the shadows of myself and my bike--something I hadn't expected to see. In the end, it made the more interesting photo. Taken with the iPhone, it was processed in PhotoStudio.

Unexpected "finds" a lot of the time are better than what one sets out to do!! Great find.

Great comp. and a bike ride . . . I will pass . . . have to get my spring legs under me first
ReplyDeleteSimply wonderful! I love the tones and the strong graphic quality. (almost as much as you must love having sun and warmth) Some photo blog or another had a tag line saying to always turn around after you think you got your shot.
ReplyDeleteI think you just did your self portrait...love the strong shadow against those warm colors! Brilliant, as always!
ReplyDeleteVery interesting and I love the colors!
ReplyDeleteI like shadow pictures and this one is really nice. The inclusion of the actual bike wheel gives this a little something extra. Kudos for wearing your helmet. :-D
ReplyDeletePerfect! I've been playing with "shadow" pics for several months... and I've not take one as interesting as this!
ReplyDeletewhat a gorgeous photograph to remember your ride with!
ReplyDeleteMy Uncle is always going out to ride his bike and sending me lots of pictures he takes. This is a really neat one! I love the shadow of the tire and part of the real tire in the pic.
ReplyDeleteWell done doesn't say it all...
ReplyDeleteI love this! The warmth of the tint is perfect to represent your first spring bike ride. Like Val, I compliment you on wearing your helmet...

Helmets are critical! I'm a pediatrician--I've seen too much brain trauma not to wear a helmet!
