St. Patrick's Day in NYC

We all played hooky, along with two of Sierra's friends and went down to NYC for the parade. The weather was just gorgeous-as were the pipers. Captured by the iPhone, the picture was tuned up a bit in PhotoForge and framed in PhotoGene.

  1. Real good colour in this street shot, but shouldn;t it be green?

  2. Not much green, but plenty of gorgeous yellow!! Wish I'd been there.

  3. Lucky you! Our St Pat's parades were last weekend in the rain! Great capture (and glad you enjoyed an outside parade on a NICE day)!

  4. Orange is for St. Patty's Day too! Catholics are green; Protestants are Orange. Finally, I feel vindicated. I've been wearing orange on St. Patty's day for years and no one ever gets it!

  5. Those kilts aren't orange--they're Irish gold!

  6. A very colorful image this is. I never saw the gold kilts worn before. You must have been very close to have such detail.

  7. Irish bands often wear solid gold or saffron colored kilts. Yes, we were close, and this particular band filled the street. We were also close enough that I could bestow some kisses on firemen who were marching by.

  8. The sunshine must be nice after all of that rain y'all have had. The shadows are great.
