We all played hooky, along with two of Sierra's friends and went down to NYC for the parade. The weather was just gorgeous-as were the pipers. Captured by the iPhone, the picture was tuned up a bit in PhotoForge and framed in PhotoGene.
Orange is for St. Patty's Day too! Catholics are green; Protestants are Orange. Finally, I feel vindicated. I've been wearing orange on St. Patty's day for years and no one ever gets it!
Irish bands often wear solid gold or saffron colored kilts. Yes, we were close, and this particular band filled the street. We were also close enough that I could bestow some kisses on firemen who were marching by.
...is to fill 52 themes, one a week for the year. Some weeks, maybe I'll try to find several photos to fit the themes. Others, I may spend more time trying to perfect one that seems best to represent the theme. Three years of a photo-a-day opened my eyes, now I want to hone my skills.
Somehow, a camera allows me to see more deeply and awakens the eye. For me, undertaking these year-long challenges is a way to become more aware of the world that swirls around me.
