A dogwood blossom has four petals. FilmLab let me bring out the texture of the flower in this iPhone photo as well as showing off the bug that had settled on it.
This is a beautifully sharp image. I love dogwoods. In fact I bought a red-twig dogwood in a rootball. It wasn't until it grew some that I realized it isn't the same dogwood I dreamed of. It has unimportant looking blooms shaped more like Queen Anne's lace. But every winter those bald twigs are red! What a cheerful sight in December.
...is to fill 52 themes, one a week for the year. Some weeks, maybe I'll try to find several photos to fit the themes. Others, I may spend more time trying to perfect one that seems best to represent the theme. Three years of a photo-a-day opened my eyes, now I want to hone my skills.
Somehow, a camera allows me to see more deeply and awakens the eye. For me, undertaking these year-long challenges is a way to become more aware of the world that swirls around me.

ReplyDeleteLove the dimension in this image...it looks like I could pick up this bug (although I'd rather not)!
ReplyDeleteI love the graphic quality of this and I like that bug. Your spring has overcome spring here, no sign of dogwoods opening...
ReplyDeleteThe bug was a nice bonus! Love your picture.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shot and processing. I'm going to check out that FilmLabs.
ReplyDeleteCool! Very neat texturization and tones.
ReplyDeleteLove your photo
ReplyDeleteGreat processing and photo. Really brings out the subtle texture of the dogwood. Love the desaturated look, also! Nice choice for this picture.
