In a small cemetary in town, this little boy's grave stands apart from the others. He was only 7 when he died over 200 years ago, but a sorriful angel still looks over the place where he lies. In this graveyard there are a painfully large number of children's stones--a reminder of how fortunate we are that for us, a child's death is a rare event. This picture was taken with the iPhone about two weeks ago (so it's not one of my 365 photos) and processed in SwankoLab.
...is to fill 52 themes, one a week for the year. Some weeks, maybe I'll try to find several photos to fit the themes. Others, I may spend more time trying to perfect one that seems best to represent the theme. Three years of a photo-a-day opened my eyes, now I want to hone my skills.
Somehow, a camera allows me to see more deeply and awakens the eye. For me, undertaking these year-long challenges is a way to become more aware of the world that swirls around me.
A somber reminder of how lucky and blessed we are today! I can't imagine the pain of those parents...very emotional piece!

I enjoy taking photos in cemeteries. So peaceful. These headstones are sad, but they make you pause and think for a moment. Beautiful hillside.
