The faucets of the heavens have been unleashed here in southern New England. Although the sun came out today, the Connecticut River was past flood stage and still rising. I like this picture, taken with the Hipstamatic iPhone app, because the surreal aspect of the streetlamp out there in the river reminds me of the lamppost in "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe."

Boy and they accused me of stretching themes, your blaming this on TAPS, I don't think so, unless the sinks are all plugged up, release the plugs.
ReplyDeleteI REALLY like the processing on this one!
ReplyDeleteMy grandpa used to tell us stories of swimming across the CT River when he was a boy, just so they could get to a good swimming spot on the other side. Go figure...
sure is surrealistic and so unusual to see a streetlamp standing in the water however I hope the flooding stops soon

I am looking for the goatman to start swimming up...so surreal!
ReplyDeleteThe monotones here give a soothing feeling to a chaotic scene. Unusual.
