On Monday, John left for work, and I was getting ready to go to my job. A minute later, he came back in and said, "Let's go camping instead!" So we did. We took three days off, camped on a lake an hour away from home, and did some geocaching & kayaking. This is the boat launch at Hopeville Pond State Pond. I used the iPhone's ProHDR to take the picture.

This is a beautiful photo. Love the reflections... and the "path" through the water. Just lovely. And I like the backstory as much as the photo. Love your spontaneity!
ReplyDeleteOver everything else, :Let;s Go Camping Instead" wins this years award for Being "Just Damn Right" Conjrats to John and to You for following. Nothing else is important. But back to the shot, enlarge it is stupendous and slightly painterly if too crisp. but as a thumbnail is even more interesting, cause to me it looks like a scene viewed through a glass bottom jug due to the circles which disappear when enlarged. I think this is the most unique shot of the year, and the story makes it the overall winner with still eight months to go + or-, BLOODY GREAT!!!!!
ReplyDeletewhat a wonderful idea and greast luck for you to be able to take some days off just like that and capture the moment. Wonderful wiew with great depth and the reflectons ar very nice

I agree with Ron, this is one of the most appealing images I've seen on the Photowalk. The brighter areas created by the sky's reflection on the water has the effect of leading the eye right down to the outlet. And the leaning trees on the bank also serve to direct attention that way. Really, such a fabulous photo! I have a question too, but I'll hop over to your Facebook page to ask...

More lovely reflections. Looks like a lovely place to be paddling...
ReplyDeleteHow very enticing, just lovely! Lucky for you both to be able to just take off.
ReplyDeleteThat photo is absolutely BEAUTIFUL! Simply stunning. I love the lighting and the way the river just draws your eyes right hrough the scene. The water is just so smooth and still, too and the reflections an added bonus. Wonderful job!
ReplyDeleteLove this..just breathtaking. I adore that you are so spontaneous!!! Our situation right now caring for hubby's father has taken some spontaneity out of our lives...but we will get it back I am sure :-)
ReplyDeleteBeautifull exposure!! Hey, sounds like a hard life!!
