Iliano's seems to be an important part of your life in some ways, which I find envious. Just when we think we have found our home away from home it closes, so we are always looking.
looks like a nice place for lunch and great that they serve gluten free pizzas. We have some places serving those to but not to many and it's quite hard for a pizzaplace to keep those glutenfree as the flour is everywhere
I think my wife would love this place, too, because of the glutenfree pizza ... do they the baking of the pizza together with the others or in an absolutely separate way?
Great capture of your favorite place...I love the arches and how they show through to the kitchen...I love that you included the pizza man in your picture
Is the dough made of cauliflower? I don't have to adhere to a gluten-free diet but fewer grain carbs wouldn't hurt. I've heard of the cauliflower solution but haven't tried it. Just so it has sausage, mushrooms, and lots of cheese!
I do have celiac disease--nearly died of it eleven years ago. I was down to 90 pounds at 5'8". I *never* cheat and I'm really, really careful about cross contamination. This place uses crusts they buy from a dedicated GF facility. They prepare them in a separate area in the back of the kitchen away from everything else. They're baked in the main ovens, but on parchment paper, so there's really minimal risk. I make a great GF pizza--but the first time I ate there, a little over a year ago, I did shed tears--just to be able to eat pizza with friends at a regular pizzeria! One never realizes how much ordinary things matter until one can't do them any more.
...is to fill 52 themes, one a week for the year. Some weeks, maybe I'll try to find several photos to fit the themes. Others, I may spend more time trying to perfect one that seems best to represent the theme. Three years of a photo-a-day opened my eyes, now I want to hone my skills.
Somehow, a camera allows me to see more deeply and awakens the eye. For me, undertaking these year-long challenges is a way to become more aware of the world that swirls around me.
I'm glad you have a place to eat pizza. I don't know what I would do without pizza in my life.

ReplyDeleteThis proves breakfast is not the most important meal. Celiac is a challenge for eating out, glad you found a place for pizza.
