Hope

I'm using one of the free themes here. I've said for a long time that a New England winter will always break your heart--it's not how fierce it is (and this one was that...) but how long. We're still not out of the 40s and little chance of it soon. But this tiny snow crocus bravely opens for a few hours a day to let us know that there has never been a winter that didn't end.

  1. Come on, little crocus, you can do it! I'm starting to see some things bloom, but no flowers in my yard yet (tulips are coming up, lilac bush is budding - hydrangea too). I like the lighting on this

  2. Bobbie, I'm hoping this is the start of spring you so deserve. I knew Connecticut had ground and it is nice to see it with you! I too like the brightness of the flower in relation to the image. It is a metaphor to embrace.

  6. Hi Bobbie,
What a wonder they are! It always amazes me that my little flowers come up through the snow. It tells me spring is right around the corner. Have a great day!

  8. It has been an unusual winter for those of us in Central California as well. The dought has officially been declared as over. I have flowers blooming earlier than I have seen in the 10 years we have lived here. It is beautiful to behold! Keep on hoping.....

  9. Lovely the way the light is warming your image. And let it be known that our snowdrops are just coming up, so crocuses have a little ways to go yet....

  11. This definitely defines hope and hold on...spring IS coming! My crocus have leaves showing but no blooms yet..am waiting for the wild "may flowers" that bloom in our native pasture to appear.
