There are some benighted souls who do not think the bagpipe produces music. I am not one of them. I love a pipe band, and the St. Patrick's Day parade in NYC had plenty today. 365/2011

Me, too! Me, too! I love the pipes and drums. Unfortunately, my pleasure was short-lived as the group only performed a few minutes. Must find recorded music! Maybe I can see the NYC parade one of these days.
I like bagpipes. My grandfather couldn't stand them for some reason, saying it sounded like a cat fight. We attended a wedding in Wales a couple years ago in an old castle, and one of the best memories of it was a piper up on the roof at dusk, playing sweetly as the guests wandered inside.
I though iris color was mostly green but these really stand out. Must have been a great sound with all those bagpipes. Never heard more than one or two at a time
...is to fill 52 themes, one a week for the year. Some weeks, maybe I'll try to find several photos to fit the themes. Others, I may spend more time trying to perfect one that seems best to represent the theme. Three years of a photo-a-day opened my eyes, now I want to hone my skills.
Somehow, a camera allows me to see more deeply and awakens the eye. For me, undertaking these year-long challenges is a way to become more aware of the world that swirls around me.
