These are the wheels of government turning in our town. Berlin is still small enough to have an annual town budget hearing. There, the Big Wheels present their numbers and their reasons. We have the opportunity to ask questions or make comments. It goes to referendum in two weeks. Coming from NYC, I deeply appreciate being able to express myself and to be heard as an individual. Unfortunately, most citizens don't. The auditorium was nearly empty.

Nice interpretation of your town meeting...It is a shame most people don't want a say!
ReplyDeleteVery unique processing on this - it reminds me of a colorized newspaper shot.
ReplyDeleteBravo to you for having your say at the town meeting. I hope they took some of your words to heart.
fine example of democracy! Interesting processing of the picture, I wonder how it might be done.
ReplyDeleteLooks like an artist rendition of the town meeting.
ReplyDeleteHi Bobbie,
ReplyDeleteGreat idea for the theme. My small town is the same. We call them town meetings. The city council talks and explains and the public gets to put in their two cents worth. I've actually been one of those "people" at one of the meetings. Have a great day!

definitely a far cry from life in NYC. Although the community meetings in my area are generally packed - however it's very hard to connect the comments with any change in outcome from those meetings.
ReplyDeleteIs this a case of the little wheels being run over by the big wheels?
ReplyDeleteTake away the microphones and Powerpoint material and your processing takes us back in time.
ReplyDeleteThis does look like a timeless photo from the local paper.
ReplyDeleteOur township meetings look very similar...usually no younger people there either even tho many have moved into the farmsteads around here as the older people have moved on. A slice of Americana.
