Funny how some big chained stores ate up small independents, not they themselves are being consumed by the internet merchants, bad economy or poor business factors.
This is a good after shot to pair with a more optimistic before.
So sad to see bookstores close. I've spent many happy hours browsing books when visiting the city. Always fun to find a new one to explore...especially those with old books.
I'm amazed that we have one community bookstore that is still open. It has so much more character than the chains - including store kitties and a snake in a tank.
Amazing that they're even open for customers while taking the furniture out.
I noticed recently in one of the larger shopping centres that the borders bookstore had been turned into a Rebel Sports shop. So sad to see a bookstore shut up shop.
...is to fill 52 themes, one a week for the year. Some weeks, maybe I'll try to find several photos to fit the themes. Others, I may spend more time trying to perfect one that seems best to represent the theme. Three years of a photo-a-day opened my eyes, now I want to hone my skills.
Somehow, a camera allows me to see more deeply and awakens the eye. For me, undertaking these year-long challenges is a way to become more aware of the world that swirls around me.
Our sad story like this is the Angus and Robertsons Book Stores. I echo your despair.
