Passion

I really didn't want to go to see the death throes of a book store, but John had a gift card to Borders that would have gone to waste if he didn't use it. These men clearly have a passion for reading--one that I have shared for as long as I can remember.

  1. It's a sad turn of events. Your shot does a nice job of portraying the loss.

  2. when I saw this with the title "Passion" I immediately thought of "Passion of the Christ" - I think the guy with long hair sealed the association.

Too bad for Borders - they just couldn't innovate enough to survive.

  4. Glad you took the time to take this pic. It does convey a lot of emotion. I too agree with Gisele. My first thought was a modern day Jesus.

  5. We are losing our Borders, too, after it survived the first round of cuts. It will be missed.

  6. Reading is a great passion, I know this, too. I dare say: Reading is living twice.

  7. Tony, a lot more than twice. :) You can live the lives of hundreds of different people in different universes. I think this is one of the greatest gifts to humanity - imagination.

  9. Hi Bobbi,
Very nice picture! We lost our Borders too. Now all of our chain book stores are gone. Just a couple local ones left. But the good thing is we still have a library. 99% of my books come from there. I can still travel all over the world and never leave my comfy chair. Have a great day!

  10. This is a great shot! It sure conveys the mood of the store closing, but also showing that even that can't stop the quest for the written word.

  11. A very emotional photo...conveys exactly the way I feel when I find a bookstore going out of business. Nice work!

  12. Borders was one of my husband's favorite stores, not just for the books but the coffee. It's hard to find Seattle's Best coffee. We will miss that store.
