Clouds

Impressive clouds swept over the reservoir this afternoon. I used Mill Colour and Touchup to heighten the drama. It would have been a good scene for HDR, but the road is narrow with no shoulder. I only had time to snap this one shot from the car before someone was coming up behind me and I had to get going.

  2. Beautiful, I think I would want to try IR, the Ansel look, maybe with Photoshop could do it. Great job.

  5. I think this shot would have worked great in B&W. The contrast between sky and lake would pop.

  7. Greg--I actually tried it in B&W, thinking along the same lines. But somehow, without that sliver of blue and the tiny bit of reflected blue sky at the bottom, it just didn't work as well. So what I did was to kind of compromise and reduce the saturation while still retaining just that bit of blue. I do supect that if I'd been able to work it in B&W in Elements, it might have been more effective; but my "rules" require that everything be done in the iPhone, which doesnt' allow for as much subtlety. I do have the original image on the computer now, so--with your inspiration--I may play around with it a bit to see what I can get.

  10. The sky is fabulous and I love that the foreground and the background are shilhouetted.
