As I was sitting in my cubicle today, eyes focused on the twin comuter screens on which I do my work, I caught some motion in my peripheral vision. A ladybug was crawling on the digital photo frame on my desk. You can see the SD card sticking up behind it and the Tibetan prayer flags hung on the wall behind it. Selective coloring works perfectly to spotlight this little bit of color and life that appeared unexpectedly in a dull institutional environment.
Nice processing on both. I like the top one I think best! That is one of those Asian Lady Bugs that come in this time of year. Don't squish them, vacuum them up.
...is to fill 52 themes, one a week for the year. Some weeks, maybe I'll try to find several photos to fit the themes. Others, I may spend more time trying to perfect one that seems best to represent the theme. Three years of a photo-a-day opened my eyes, now I want to hone my skills.
Somehow, a camera allows me to see more deeply and awakens the eye. For me, undertaking these year-long challenges is a way to become more aware of the world that swirls around me.
What a colorful and cheery visitor, I like the selective color.

ReplyDeleteI don't know about you, but we are being attacked by ladybugs here in Nebraska - they are EVERYWHERE! Could be a horror movie LOL
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice shot. That would make me smile at work for sure.
ReplyDeleteA wonderful capture and I love the first and more colorful version.
ReplyDeleteNice pair of twin photos...both are effective in their own way.
ReplyDeleteThe ladybugs have really been busy this fall. What a treat to get this visitor at your office. The selective color really enhances the photo.
