July 21: Having left the UP, we camped just over the Macinac Bridge. We got there early enough to make a brief trip over to Mackinac Island, where cars are prohibited and everyone travels by biccycle or horse-powered transportation. We arrived there at about the same time as these yachts, which had just completed a race from Chicago to the Island, their flags and pennants dancing in the brisk breeze. Accented Edges makes the image a bit more crisp.
...is to fill 52 themes, one a week for the year. Some weeks, maybe I'll try to find several photos to fit the themes. Others, I may spend more time trying to perfect one that seems best to represent the theme. Three years of a photo-a-day opened my eyes, now I want to hone my skills.
Somehow, a camera allows me to see more deeply and awakens the eye. For me, undertaking these year-long challenges is a way to become more aware of the world that swirls around me.
This is a gorgeous shot. This is a wall-hanger for sure.
