Today, we went to a craft fair where I took pictures of a puppet show and pictures of a funky artist doing a "flash painting" of a tiger...but then, on the way, we stopped at a supermarket. When we came out, the sky was on fire. We have had days upon days of grim grey weather, and then suddenly, there was this! I didn't alter the original other than to sharpen it a bit--this was the sky as we saw it. Dark Strokes deepend the color and intensified the sihouettes of the trees.
...is to fill 52 themes, one a week for the year. Some weeks, maybe I'll try to find several photos to fit the themes. Others, I may spend more time trying to perfect one that seems best to represent the theme. Three years of a photo-a-day opened my eyes, now I want to hone my skills.
Somehow, a camera allows me to see more deeply and awakens the eye. For me, undertaking these year-long challenges is a way to become more aware of the world that swirls around me.
