Today is the winter solstice. From now on, the dark will be retreating. What better time to feature these sunny flowers--zinnias growing in an AeroGarden to brighten up our living room? Combining Rough Pastels and Accented Edges softens them a bit, adding a painterly touch.
Like I said over at facebook...this adds some warmth to my day (especially since they are now predicting another foot of snow for us on xmas eve and xmas...have a feeling no one will be getting here for the holidays..
What a gift! I'll just bask in both versions for a while. This is so much more uplifting than a minute more of daylight, I don't know what an AeroGarden is but I want one!
How beautiful! When I first started my picture taking, one of my first photos was a bee on a zinnia. It was really cool, and I still have it up on the wall.
...is to fill 52 themes, one a week for the year. Some weeks, maybe I'll try to find several photos to fit the themes. Others, I may spend more time trying to perfect one that seems best to represent the theme. Three years of a photo-a-day opened my eyes, now I want to hone my skills.
Somehow, a camera allows me to see more deeply and awakens the eye. For me, undertaking these year-long challenges is a way to become more aware of the world that swirls around me.
