Tuesday evenings means Taize services at the little Methodist church around the block from us. There were only four people there tonight, including the pastor; but it is a deeply spiritual experience. This is the church just after the service concluded. The larger candle on the table in front of the altar is flanked by the small tealights each of us brought up during the service; they represent our prayers. ...is to fill 52 themes, one a week for the year. Some weeks, maybe I'll try to find several photos to fit the themes. Others, I may spend more time trying to perfect one that seems best to represent the theme. Three years of a photo-a-day opened my eyes, now I want to hone my skills.
Somehow, a camera allows me to see more deeply and awakens the eye. For me, undertaking these year-long challenges is a way to become more aware of the world that swirls around me.
