Abstract

I was iced in today. Although the branches, looking like they were encased in glass, would have made a pretty picture, it was just too nasty and treacherous to venture out. Here in our cozy little house, the woodstove kept us warm. Here's an abstract view of the flames.

  1. Hope you had a glass of wine and a good book to help keep you warm.

  2. I love to stare at flames. You become mesmerized by the movement and they become alive. Definitely abstract to start, but watch long enough and they will come to life.

  3. It's very fine sitting in front of the flames and see them dance from here to there, fron up to down, always in motion, real and at the same time abstract.

  5. Love the emphasis on the flame. We were iced in yesterday too. A fireplace would have been nice.

  6. You guys are just getting hit one after another! I bet you are beginning to turn that shape into people and things...something about being cooped in! Our storm missed us today...went south...instead of 6-8" of snow we are supposed to get 1/2"...YEAH! This winter has been really mild for us!

  10. Lovely and a perfect abstract image. Despite the work I love having wood heat.

  11. Nice abstract which is very interesting to study. You have just the right amount of red/orange flame not to overwhelm.

  12. Your image is helping to offset the snow that is coming down right now! It's nice to know that, based on the records at Bradley, this January is officially the snowiest month in CT's recorded history.
