The set of "American Primitive," a play based on the letters exchanged between Abigail and John Adams. It explored the deep love between these two, as well as the deep pain caused by their separation while he was in Philadelphia involved in national concerns and she was in Massachusetts, managing the farm and the family on her own.

ReplyDeleteFirst of all, nice idea and representation for the theme. I have thought long and hard how I am going to cover this. Secondly, I am fascinated by John Adams and Thomas Jefferson, both signers of the Declaration of Independence, once rivals then friends, who both died on the same day, 50 years exactly after July 4th, 1776. You couldn't write a better story! I think Abigail was John's cousin but I'm not sure.

every country has its own history, and we in Germany always admired the Americans (and I do it now again with your wonderful president) ... your picture gives a good opportunity for reflection
