so good an idea! I like playing chess, so I love your picture with the yellow and black pieces. Do you play also? The title "arrangend" is very well chosen!
I don't play chess--I just happend to come upon this board set up at the library. Something about the way it was arranged, with that one black pawn up front and the way it lit made it really look like a battle. As far as the otehr patrons--well, after two years of taking a photo a day, lots of people are used to seeeing me and my iPhone snapping away; and I've kind of lost any self consciousness about it!
...is to fill 52 themes, one a week for the year. Some weeks, maybe I'll try to find several photos to fit the themes. Others, I may spend more time trying to perfect one that seems best to represent the theme. Three years of a photo-a-day opened my eyes, now I want to hone my skills.
Somehow, a camera allows me to see more deeply and awakens the eye. For me, undertaking these year-long challenges is a way to become more aware of the world that swirls around me.

ReplyDeleteI have enjoyed all of your images so far, and am pleased to have made your acquaintance!

ReplyDeleteThe angle on this shot is particularly compelling. It really enhances the lighting.
ReplyDeleteThe lighting and angle are prefect for this arranged image.
ReplyDeleteI like the how the numbers 6 7 8 add to the sense of the pieces being arranged. I agree with other comments on light and angle.
ReplyDeleteBeuatiful lighting and contrast.
ReplyDeletegreat angle..wonder what the people in the library thought seeing you crouching down photographing the chess set! Like the edging to your layout.
ReplyDeleteI really like the light in this photo, and, like you, I don't have a fancy camera. It will be my Canon P&S and my iPhone.
ReplyDeleteAnother great shot! I really like your angle and the way you caught the light streaks. It really puts emphasis on the chess pieces.
