Hello Bobbie! I am a new followed to your blog, as I have started a similar challenge myself. I am not following any specific guidelines, just posting 1 picture every day.
I did have a question though...when you take pictures of people, do you warn them ahead of time? hahaha I always feel like people will be surfing the web some day and stumble across a picture of themselves.
Looking forward to following you, and would love to have a follower :)
This photo has a nostalgic feel to it; the warmth of an old print found at the bottom of a dresser drawer. Did you post edit or was it the lighting of the store?
That sounds like a perfect way to spend a Sat afternoon...I think I am heading to our Borders tomorrow! :) Your processing gives this a warm and welcoming feeling!
@Steven: the photo was taken with my iPhone using the Hipstamatic app, which adds the filters and borders. I didn't do any extra processing beyond that.
@Laura Jean: if it's a distand sort of shot like this taken in a public place, I don't make my presence known--sort of urban stealth photography. If it were a close up or something taken in a private setting, I'd ask permission.
This isn't fair. First Esther shows us her Kindle, and now you are sharing about coffee and B&N. Books, books and coffee. I'm soooo jealous of your both. ;-D It is a great shot and I love the mood it presents. Thanks also for dropping by my blog.
The processing is perfect on this photo...along with the flooring, it makes for a very vintage mood. Makes me wish for a trip to the bookstore (we've been snowbound for 2 days so no shopping trip for me)
OH, I have a $50 gift card from Barnes and Noble and you just made the urge to use it much greater! Nice shot; I like the app you're using on your iPhone.
I think you gave the photo a bit old-fashioned look in that coloring and I like it. I'm joining this years challenge to but with no press to produce all 365
The thing that I like about taking pictures with an iphone is that you can take candid pictures like this one. When I get out my big camera, everyone freezes. Your shot is a great candid shot.
...is to fill 52 themes, one a week for the year. Some weeks, maybe I'll try to find several photos to fit the themes. Others, I may spend more time trying to perfect one that seems best to represent the theme. Three years of a photo-a-day opened my eyes, now I want to hone my skills.
Somehow, a camera allows me to see more deeply and awakens the eye. For me, undertaking these year-long challenges is a way to become more aware of the world that swirls around me.

ReplyDeleteThere is a lot to be said for stealth, this is a great slice of life and as ever you used the perfect app.
ReplyDeleteFeel old school as I still like to go into a book store. Love the feel of this image.
