Today was typical for March in southern New England: cloudy, glum and raw. The water of Paper Goods Pond reflects the sullen sky. The Dark Strokes filter works well with the lights and shadows and the moodiness of the scene.
That water looks like glass - WOW!!
ReplyDeleteI love the reflection of the sky in the water. Nice capture.
ReplyDeleteI love the moodiness, it does look a bit raw. I love the name of the pond too, is/was there a mill near?
ReplyDeleteYou've really captured the glum moodiness of the scene. Super!
ReplyDeleteThis photo really does capture a mood. Awesome job!
ReplyDeleteYes--Paper Goods is a mill pond. Just across the street is the now abandoned factory that had belonged to Sherwood Industries. Among other things, they made SherriCups. The pond was given to the town several years ago; it has a small parking lot and some benches on the side. The building is in the process of being turned into condos for people 55 and older. (It's a little scary for me to realize that I could now buy one!)
ReplyDeleteThe cloud reflection in the water is terrific.
ReplyDeleteI love the reflections of the clouds on the smooth water. Very nice!
ReplyDeleteThe reflections in this shot are absolutely amazing. It's beautiful. I can almost feel the cool rawness in the air. Great job.
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful! Although gloomy...it's wonderfu.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great shot! Beautiful, melancholy air to it. (Can't decide which version I like better!)
ReplyDeleteI can, I like the "after" version better. It seems to enhance all of the key parts of the image.
